Chair Cane is used in the weaving of seats and backs of chairs with holes drilled around the frame. A 250ft coil will weave a chair that is approximately 12X12 with 72 holes or less. 500ft will do approximately 2 chairs, and 1000ft will do about 4 chairs.
Chair cane has many synonyms such as hand cane, natural strand cane, and rattan peel. Chair cane is the bark of the rattan palm and has been used for seat and other weavings for centuries.
