Natural FLAT REED
Flat Reed is the core of the rattan plant. It is flat on both sides with one being smooth. Flat reed is used in splint baskets and wicker furniture. Flat reed is very pliable after soaking for a few minutes in water. The flat reed comes in approximately 1lb coils. Flat reed is also used in chair seat weaving as a replacement for splints. The flat reed does not have the durability of oak or hickory splints, and is not recommended for outside use.
FLAT REED can be painted, stained or left natural.
